The Story of The
The Tooth Goblin
A tale of the journey of childhood, finding one’s own special identity, embracing life’s challenges with others, and of course, losing teeth.
In Loving Memory Of Sebastian Killen
Sebastian was nine years old when he passed unexpectedly from thalamus lymphoma in January 2025. In his short but full lifetime here, he filled the world with joy, creativity, and boundless love. He had a magical way of connecting with others—whether through a smile, a silly joke, or his unwavering willingness to be a friend to anyone who needed one.
Sebastian loved riding his scooter, playing games, making art and music, and romping around with the family dogs. He had a bold, expressive spirit and celebrated his uniqueness with a confidence that inspired those around him—especially his mom, who learned from him that being fully yourself is one of life’s greatest gifts.
The Tooth Goblin is more than just a fictional story—it's a real life cherished family tradition directly from our home that marked the special moments of Sebastian growing up, the journey of childhood, and losing his baby teeth. He would be honored to know that this story now lives on to bring wonder, laughter, and loving connection to other families.
A Direct 5 percent portion of all proceeds from the sales of this book in addition to direct book purchases/book donations will support children’s literacy programs in Sebastian’s hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida—and, with hope, eventually in other cities, schools, and literacy outreach programs.

The Tooth Goblin was created with intention—both in story and in structure.
This 11.5 x 8.5 inch (length x height) hardbound children’s book was carefully designed to appeal to children ages 5 to 12. The large-format layout allows younger readers to enjoy a vibrant visual experience without adult hands covering the illustrations, while also offering older readers an accessible, independent reading journey.
The book’s cover features a durable matte finish—easily wiped clean of sticky fingers or household debris. Its sturdy, reinforced spine ensures longevity through countless rereads and shared moments.
Inside, the pages are printed on 6 pt matte-coated paper, chosen specifically to withstand repeated flipping by both little and grown-up hands. This paper provides a smooth, glare-free reading experience while enhancing the richness of the illustrations.
Every material used in the production of The Tooth Goblin was selected with intention: to ensure the book’s durability, minimize environmental waste, and position it as a potential heritage item—a book that can be passed down through generations with proper care.
About The Author
Amanda Elaine Killen is a writer, visual artist, and hairstylist by trade with a background in marketing. Residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, she has long enjoyed writing and publishing small works, weaving creativity into every facet of her life. As both a passionate advocate for childhood education and a devoted mother, Amanda found profound purpose in creating The Tooth Goblin—a story written in honor of her late son.
Noticing that the traditions surrounding the loss of baby teeth often coincide with other major developmental milestones—and are usually limited to simple folklore like the tooth fairy—Amanda saw an opportunity to invite a little disruption. Her tale introduces a mischievous goblin who poses riddles and prompts families to explore deeper conversations together. With this unique character, she encourages playful inquiry, emotional growth, and a shared sense of wonder between children and their caregivers.
Firm in her belief in the power of childhood imagination, Amanda offers this intimate tradition she once shared with her son to families everywhere. Through The Tooth Goblin, she hopes his spirit, curiosity, and joy for life continue to inspire connection, storytelling, and love in homes across the world.
